متن کاملVertebral osteomyelitis and native valve endocarditis due to Staphylococcus simulans: a case report
BACKGROUND Staphylococcus simulans is a common animal pathogen that occasionally can colonize human skin. Unlike other coagulase-negative staphylococci, S. simulans tends to cause more severe infections that resemble those caused by S. aureus. We present a case of vertebral osteomyelitis and endocarditis due to S. simulans. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of vertebral ost...
متن کاملClinical progression of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus vertebral osteomyelitis associated with reduced susceptibility to daptomycin.
Daptomycin, a novel cyclic lipopeptide antibiotic, exhibits rapid bactericidal activity in vitro against most clinically relevant gram-positive organisms, including drug-resistant pathogens. Herein we describe a patient in whom methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus with reduced susceptibility to daptomycin was responsible for bacteremia and progressive vertebral osteomyelitis during dapto...

The procedure is considered simple to perform and it is considered a safe procedure with few complications. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to describe an unusual complication due to a CT-guided fine-needle...
متن کاملSeptic Arthritis Due to Staphylococcus Warneri: A Diagnostic Challenge
A septic arthritis due to an indolent infection is a challenge for timely diagnosis. In recent years septic arthritides due to Staphylococcus Warneri are increasingly reported, mostly as a complication in patients with prosthetic devices.
